In Macomb County, body art establishments and activities are regulated under the Regulations Governing Body Art Establishments in Macomb County, Michigan which became effective in February 2009. Under the regulation, all body art and permanent cosmetic establishments must have Health Department approval and individuals performing body art or permanent cosmetics may do so only in an approved establishment.
Michigan law requires a campground license when five (5) or more recreational units are placed on a property and are used for temporary living quarters. This applies to sites that operate year-round (permanent campground) or for a temporary amount of time (temporary campground). The HIV testing program provides anonymous counseling and testing -- but not treatment -- on an appointment only basis. Services are provided at no charge to persons age 12 and over.
Many pesticides, weed killers, automotive products, cleaning products and hobby supplies that we use in our homes contain toxic chemicals that become hazardous waste. If we simply toss these products in the garbage, pour them down the drain, or dump them onto the ground, the result can be pollution to our soil and water.
WIC does not use an application form. You will need to call the WIC office at (586) 469-5471. Experienced phone staff will perform an initial screening to determine whether or not you are eligible for WIC. You will be given an appointment to verify your eligibility.
WIC eligible family members will receive WIC food benefits and a Michigan WIC Bridge Card during their initial visit to the WIC clinic.

Parcels or properties for sale that rely on a well for drinking water and/or a septic system for sewage disposal are required by Macomb County regulation to have these systems evaluated prior to closing.
The Maternal Child Health Nursing program is comprised of highly trained Public Health Nurses (PHNs) who have extensive education and experience in assessing infants, children and their families within the community setting. The Health Department provides public health nursing services to individuals and families throughout Macomb County.

The STIs program provides confidential counseling, testing, diagnosis, and treatment for most sexually transmitted diseases. Services are provided at no charge for persons age 12 years and older.
Under the shelter management program, health department staff perform the following activities: Conduct inspections of child care and adult foster care facilities, license and inspect campgrounds and respond to complaints pertaining to improper sewage disposal in manufactured home communities.

Most presentations will require a minimum number of registered participants.
Subdivisions or condominiums proposed in areas that are not served by municipal water and/or municipal sewage must rely on wells and septic systems. The Macomb County Health Department regulates these sites by conducting an evaluation of the soil conditions and the drinking water source via a test well.
The Surface Water Improvement and Monitoring (SWIM) team, formed after a recommendation of the Blue Ribbon Commission Report, was created in the latter part of 1997 with funds committed by the Macomb County Board of Commissioners.
